Sunday, December 9 Reading of James Joyce's "The Dead"

In observance of the coming holidays/winter solstice, the Finnegans Wake Reading Group will hold a special reading of the short story, "The Dead," at Cafe 43, 43 High Street, Mineral Point, Wisconsin, on Sunday, December 9, 2018, beginning at 4:30 PM.

***please bring cash if purchasing drinks***

Taking place during a Christmas dinner in Dublin at the turn of the twentieth century, "The Dead" is the last story in James Joyce's collection of short stories, Dubliners. Many consider this short story one of the finest short stories written in the English language.

La Fheile Padraig Finnegans Wake Reading


                  


The performance of night music will occur in the afternoon at 4:30 PM CDT, Saturday, March 17, at the heralded L&L Public House, 52 High Street.  

The L&L Public House is capable of providing the finest libations known to humanity for all prospective patrons who have attained the age of liberation from the shackles of sobriety - and it has Jameson - A Libation Pure extracted from the waters of the Liffey itself.

Various Alliterative Liturgical Passages from the book will be read out aloud to elicit an atmosphere of magic and reverie only known in Honorable Confluence to Exist during the sovereignty of night.

Also, opening the convocation will be a reading of the Guinness short story, currently residing in the foundation of the St. James' Gate Guinness Brewery, penned by the recitalist himself.
